Kybella Treatment Details

Prior to your actual treatment, numbing cream will be applied under your chin to help minimize the discomfort of the Kybella injections. After this, your face and neck will be marked to help guide your specialist. Typically, 10 to 50 injections of Kybella are administered over the course of about 10 minutes. These injections target and destroy fat cells, making it impossible for fat to be stored in that area ever again.

Most patients report that they can feel the pressure of the injections, but no pain because of the numbing agent. Some patients also report a slight burning sensation from the chemical, but this is very tolerable and worth the amazing results.

Following treatment, the area will be dressed with a compression garment, and your chin area may feel tender. For optimal results, we recommend 2 to 4 Kybella treatments spaced six weeks apart.

Recovery

During recovery, you may experience bruising, burning, or numbness. A note on swelling: your chin area will take anywhere from a couple of days to two weeks to subside in the swelling. During this time, you may feel as though your under-chin area looks even bigger, but this is part of the process, and you should not be alarmed.

Once the swelling has stopped, you will see your beautifully contoured new neck and profile, and the destroyed fat cells will not return.

Results

The majority of patients see results after 2 to 3 Kybella sessions.
