How diVa works

diVa uses a combination of two precisely tuned lasers — an erbium laser and diode laser — to achieve highly effective results by delivering both ablative and non-ablative wavelengths to the interior of the vagina.

It is a fractionated treatment wherein the first laser resurfaces the layers of the vaginal wall, and the second laser penetrates even deeper into the vaginal skin, heating the tissue where collagen exists. The result is fresh, healthy new vaginal tissue.

diVa treatment details

Before your treatment, a topical numbing anesthetic will be used. After about half an hour, you will be numbed and the procedure will begin.

A disposable applicator will be used for optimal cleanliness. The probe will enter your vagina, where it emits energy for about 3 to 5 minutes. Most patients describe a warm sensation during treatment, but no pain.

Recovery and results

Immediately after a diVa procedure, you will be able to return to your regular day. Some patients have some spotting and slight discharge for a day or two following treatment. Avoid any vaginal insertions for 48 hours after diVa.

Full results of improved vaginal tissue will vary from patient to patient. Our body’s tissue remodeling process may take up to four months. We typically recommend three diVa treatments, with a touch-up treatment a few years later if desired.
