If you are like 90% of women in the world, you’re likely affected by cellulite somewhere on your body. Escaping that status quo has been difficult, even for women who aren’t overweight and who exercise frequently and maintain a good diet. That is where Qwo™ comes in.

Qwo is the first and only FDA-approved injectable for the treatment of cellulite in the buttocks of adult women. It is quite literally like no other injectable on the market and until now the only cosmetic treatments available for cellulite were invasive and expensive.

What is Qwo?

Qwo is the latest groundbreaking product from global pharmaceutical manufacturer, Endo Aesthetics. Qwo is an injectable medication, available from licensed medical doctors and our office is proud to be among the very first practices in Florida where Qwo is available.

Qwo is primarily composed of two naturally occurring enzymes that break down the underlying cause of cellulite. The bands that contribute to cellulite (explained further below) are composed of certain types of collagen, and Qwo’s active ingredient breaks down and dissolves only these types of collagen.

The result is that the fibrous septae bands that were previously tethering down parts of the skin tissue are released, and the skin returns to a much smoother and uniform appearance, free of the marked dimples that come with cellulite.

Qwo is currently only FDA-approved for the treatment of cellulite in the buttocks of adult women. This promising treatment may shortly also be available for cellulite in the thighs and upper arms. Please contact us for a personal consultation.

    How does Qwo work?

Qwo treats the source of what is believed to play an important role in the cause of cellulite. With cellulite, a number of factors occur within the skin that makes it prone to dimples, and the orange peel or cottage cheese appearance often associated with cellulite. These factors include:

    1. Fibrous septae exist within the skin, holding the skin to the underlying muscles. These bands are composed of Type I and Type III collagen. In women, these bands run vertically, almost straight up and down from the muscle to the skin, whereas in men they run at more of an angle. This makes women more prone to cellulite than men. These bands cause depressions or valleys in cellulite.
    2. Fatty tissue between those fibrous bands herniates upward, causing the hills and mounds in cellulite.
    3. The skin itself gets thinner due to the process above, which essentially allows both the hills and valleys to occur.

By enzymatically destroying these tough fibrous septae bands formed of certain types of collagen, Qwo releases the hold they have on the skin, allowing it to return to a much smoother complexion and greatly reducing the appearance of cellulite.

How many treatments will I need?

Qwo is administered three times weekly, 21 days apart. At each treatment session, 24 cellulite dimples can be injected, 12 per side of the buttocks.

When will I see results from Qwo?

Patients will begin to see noticeable improvements in cellulite within about 28 days of treatment.

What is recovery like from Qwo?

No recovery downtime is required after Qwo treatments and you can return immediately to your regular social and professional activities after each treatment session. You should, however, avoid activities such as going to the beach or swimming, as you will have considerable bruising for about a week. Other mild to moderate side effects of Qwo include pain and itching at the injection sites. All side effects are temporary and are self-resolving within 7 to 14 days; or 21 days for the bruising.

According to data from the clinical trials, these side effects reduced in length and severity with each new treatment cycle.

    Is Qwo safe?

Qwo is FDA-approved and is very safe for treatment. In creating and testing Qwo, Endo Aesthetics conducted the largest trials ever done on cellulite and its treatment.
